Tim Scott declares presidential bid 2023

Sen. Tim Scott, Republican of South Carolina, smiles for the camera at a town hall meeting on May 8, 2023, in Manchester, New Hampshire. N.H. Scott has started the process of entering the contest for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.

He will test the waters to see if a more positive view of America’s future would appeal with Republican voters, who in recent years have elevated partisan fighters to higher office.

Scott, who is the only Black Republican in the Senate, has declared his desire to run for his party’s nomination in 2024 by filing the necessary papers with the Federal Election Commission.

His campaign will be a test of whether or whether a more positive view of America’s future will appeal with Republican voters, who in recent years have elevated partisan fighters to higher office.

The former insurance salesman, who is highly devout and 57 years old, has built a significant portion of his political identity on his grandfather’s work in the cotton fields of the Deep South.

However, he disagrees with the idea that racism is still a potent force in society. Instead, he portrays his campaign and his ascent from generational poverty as the realization of a dream that is only attainable in the United States of America.
