Delta Governor Warns Appointees About Ethnic Politics, Sectionalism 2023
Yesterday, the governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, issued a warning to political appointees in his government, telling them to avoid engaging in ethnic politics and sectionalism and instead consider the whole state to be their constituency.
This was said by Oborevwori at the same time that Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo was being sworn in as the senior political adviser in Asaba. Dr. Kingsley Emu had just been appointed to the position of Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The governor, who congratulated the appointees on their well-deserved appointments, urged them to tap into the M.O.R.E agenda of his administration in order to create new ground in the areas of infrastructure renewal, human capital development, and social investment program initiatives.
The Governor of Delta Issues a Caution to His Appointees Regarding Ethnic Politics and Sectionalism
He stated that he was an unrepentant believer in the unity of the state, even as he promised that his administration had zero tolerance for sectionalism and nepotism in the conduct of government business. While emphasising that they must be fair and just to all Deltans, he said that he was an unrepentant believer in the unity of the state.

The previous governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the former governor of the state’s deputy governor, Chief Benjamin Elue, and Senator James Manager were among those who were present during the event. The deputy governor of the state is Sir Monday Onyeme.
