Vietnam-Laos military logistics cooperation 2023

On May 30, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San hosted a delegation from the general department of logistics of the Lao People’s Army in Hanoi.

San, highlighting the special ties between Vietnam and Laos, stated that the countries’ defense cooperation has thus far yielded practical and effective results in personnel training, delegation exchange, and the maintenance of bilateral dialogue and consultation mechanisms.

The official praised the outcomes of the two countries’ logistics departments’ joint efforts, particularly in the areas of professional experience sharing, human resource training, and delegation exchange.

He stated that he supports their plans for cooperation in the near future and requested that the parties increase their capacity-building exchanges and the number of health screenings for people living in border regions.

Khamphet Sisaone, the head of the Lao department, expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Party, State, and Ministry of National Defence would create favorable conditions for the two agencies to carry out effective joint work, thereby promoting the Vietnam-Laos great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation.
