Voters believe the PM is failing all five priorities 2023
A new survey conducted as the Prime Minister prepares to offer an update on his assault on small boats shows that voters feel Rishi Sunak is doing a poor job of delivering on his five goals, and they think Sir Keir Starmer would do a better job if given the opportunity.
At the beginning of the year, Mr. Sunak outlined five goals that he wanted to accomplish before the end of the year. These goals included bringing inflation down to a more manageable level, increasing the economy, lowering the national debt, shortening the waiting lists for NHS services, and putting an end to small boat crossings.
Voters believe the Prime Minister is falling short on all five of his top goals.
Five months later, however, a survey that was conducted by Ipsos UK between May 26 and May 30 indicated that more than fifty percent of respondents believe the government is doing a poor job addressing virtually all of those issues.
Sixty percent of respondents believed the government was doing a poor job of easing the cost of living, while just eighteen percent thought it was doing a good job. Sixty-two percent of respondents said the government was not delivering on its promise to reduce waiting times in the NHS.
Fifty percent of respondents said the government was doing a poor job of boosting the economy. On each of Mr. Sunak’s goals, the public opinion polls showed that a majority of people believed a Labour administration would do a better job than a Conservative government.
This morning in Kent, Mr. Sunak is scheduled to conduct a press conference, during which he will offer an update on his vow to take action about the problem with migrants crossing the Channel.
