Iran Urges Regional Dialogue Mechanism 2023
The Iranian foreign minister proposed a Persian Gulf dialogue and cooperation structure.
Hossein Amirabdollahian stressed the need for a Persian Gulf-wide discussion and cooperation framework on Friday on Instagram.
“A better, safer, and more prosperous future is the common right of all our nations,” he stated.
“Given the importance of neighbors in our foreign policy and in order to strengthen the policy of neighborliness of the 13th administration, shortly after hosting the Saudi foreign minister and the fruitful talks in Tehran, I headed for the 4 countries of Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates in the south of the Persian Gulf,” the foreign minister said.
“Negotiation with high-ranking officials and my counterparts in these countries was highly positive and constructive and was promising for all countries in both the north and south of the strategic Persian Gulf region. “The talks also heralded a ‘better, safer and more prosperous future’ for the people among whom the bonds of friendship, compassion and kinship are so deep and strong,” Amirabdollahian said.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that putting in place a joint mechanism for dialogue and cooperation with the participation of all littoral states of the strategic region of the Persian Gulf is necessary and fruitful more than ever before,” he stated, according to the Foreign Ministry’s website.
“To this end, we will put forth the idea of forming a ‘forum of dialog and cooperation’ with the presence of all the countries in the north and south of the Persian Gulf and we will also give the details in writing in the near future to all our southern neighbors,” he added.
“A better, safer, and more prosperous future is the common right of all our nations and the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to double its efforts,” the Iranian foreign minister stated.
